Mental Health Clinical Lead, Wellington

The Mental Health Clinical Lead is part of a newly-established team delivering a new, innovative mental health service for our Pacific peoples in the Wellington region. The service is flexible, mobile, community-based support services for Pacific peoples who are experiencing mental distress (service user) so they are able to be well, and thrive and prosper in their community.

This role will involve:

  • working with high needs-complex service users and their support person(s) (if appropriate) to develop and implement health and wellbeing plans;

  • assisting service users to access a range of services, including community-based activities, social networks, health education and social services;

  • facilitating linkages to natural support supports to increase service users' independence;

  • establishing and maintaining active relationships with community agencies and health services to ensure effective coordination of support services;

  • collaborating with clinical mental health teams when appropriate; and

  • providing clinical advice and support to team members.

The successful applicant will have:

  • comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Pacific mental health issues, cultures and approaches;

  • a tertiary qualification in mental health and addictions or similar;

  • experience working in a community setting; and

  • satisfied all necessary requirements for working with vulnerable children and adults including police vetting requirements.
