Vaka Tautua supporting the malaga of Pasifika with disabilities

Thursday 13 November, 2014

Vaka Tautua | News item

Vaka Tautua is proud to present ‘Pacific Together’ – a community event to celebrate the lives of Pacific people living with a disability. ‘Pacific Together’ coincides with International Day of Disabled Persons. The United Nations theme for this year is; “Together for a better world for all; including persons with disabilities in development.”

In hosting this event, we share the common belief that promoting an understanding of disability issues helps to minimise the stigmitisation and discrimination that comes with having a disability.

What: Pacific Disability Celebration day event to mark International Day of Disabled Persons.

An experience not to be missed! Come along to see, smell, taste, feel and hear the uniqueness of our Pacific Island disabled community. Be entertained by everything from contemporary arts and music, handcraft, cultural performances and Pacific cuisine.

When: Wednesday 3 December 2014

Where: Alan Brewster Leisure Centre, Tavern Lane, Papatoetoe, Auckland

Time: 10:00am - 1:30pm
