OLDER PEOPLES SERVICES
Older peoples programme
Our older peoples’ programme is focused on improving the health and wellbeing of our older Pacific peoples through:
social connectedness and inclusion
health education and management activities, and
a valuing and celebrating of their cultural beliefs and practices.
The programme involves eight (8) ethnic-specific weekly programmes that are fun and interactive; and involve exercise, music and dance, regular health education seminars and health checks. The weekly programmes are organised and run by community co-ordinators from the respective communities. The ethnic-specific groups are Samoan (2), Tongan (2), Cook Islands (2), Niuean (1) and Tuvaluan (1).

The service involves professional and confidential counselling and advice for those seeking help. Follow-up support is also provided by our community workers.
