Vaka Tautua Delivering Services During COVID-19 Lockdown
Vaka Tautua will continue to deliver services and support to our Pacific families and communities during the COVID-19 lockdown period which starts 26 March 2020. Our services are essential because of the range of health, disability and social services we deliver; and the special communities we serve - people with disabilities, older peoples and those experiencing mental illness. We deliver services in the Auckland Central, Counties Manukau, Waitemata/West Auckland, Waikato, Hawke's Bay, Wellington and Canterbury regions.
We will, however, be delivering our services and support a bit differently to protect our service users and ourselves. Most will be via telephone and virtual means like FaceTIme, Videocall and Skype. Face-to-face sessions will take place in special cases. Our teams are working with our clients individually to understand what this new way of working looks like for them, and what will work best.
"While we are changing the way in which we are delivering our services and support to our Pacific families and communities, we are committed to delivering excellent services that meet their needs, and helps them through these uncertain times," says Chief Executive Officer, Dr Amanda-Lanuola Dunlop.
Vaka Tautua staff will be working remotely in our communities for the four-week period. All Vaka Tautua offices will be closed.
