Matua: Ola Manuia
Our Matua: Ola Manuia programme is about bringing our older peoples aged 60 years and over together to socialise, share, learn and celebrate, increasing their social connectedness and reducing social isolation.
The ethnic-specific weekly day programmes are run during the school terms, and involve music and dance, exercise, regular health education seminars and check-ups, and arts and crafts-making. Every 6 months, there are market festivals for the older peoples to showcase their cultures through music and dance, and sell the art and crafts they have made. The programmes are run by coordinators from within the groups.
