Pacific Mental Health Community Support Services

Our Pacific mental health community support services is about helping our Pacific peoples who are experiencing mild to moderate mental illness (service users) to get well, be well and integrate successfully back into their community. It involves counselling, advice, and helping our service users navigate the different health and social services to ensure they have the tools, strategies and support they need to get well, be well and stay well.

How to access this service

  • Access to this service is by referral from Waitemata and Auckland DHBs’ community mental health clinical teams. We also accept requests from a person or family member (self and community-referrals), however these numbers are limited.

Eligibility criteria

To be referred to this service, a person must:

  • Be aged 17 – 65 years of age

  • Live within the Waitemata DHB area

  • Have limited community and family support to help meet his/her needs, and

  • Have used mental health services before but they were not effective or satisfactory.
