Youth Social Work Intervention
Our Youth Social Work intervention for at-risk Pacific youth aged 10-17 years of age is about building resilience, positive relationships and life skills. The intervention teaches essential life skills for young people to be able to form positive relationships with peers and their communities. It involves individual needs assessment, advocacy, navigation, mentoring, building positive relationships and on-going communications between youth and their families.
How to access this service
Access to this intervention is by referral from Police, Oranga Tamariki, schools and social and community agencies. We also accept requests from a person or family member (self and community-referrals).
Eligibility criteria
To be referred to this service, a person must:
Be 10-17 years of age
Live in the Mangere-Otahuhu, Maungakiekie-Tamaki and Orakei areas.
