A mother and daughter were thrilled to accept donated beds in time for Christmas
thanks to help from our Disability Information and Advice Coordinator, Tina Carl-Mataiti.
While most people were preparing for Christmas Carl-Mataiti was determined to
find much needed beds for her Cook Island clients.
“It had almost been a month trying to help them but one thing I was determined to achieve was to give them their Christmas wish - to have beds for Christmas.” Says Carl-Mataiti.
“I was able to get a van courtesy of two generous givers, Louisa Nicholls and Tereapii Singapu, and I delivered several beds to their home. It was very humbling as the mother and daughter were so excited. They couldn’t wait for us to arrive with the beds.”
“No one has ever done this much support for my daughter and I before – thank you so much!” said the tearful mother.
For Tina Carl-Mataiti, this was a Christmas present in itself as she was able to enjoy the Christmas break knowing she had helped make a real difference for a family at Christmas.
