Tupou to the rescue (once again!)
Disability Information and Advisory Services Co-ordinator and Team Leader, Kaiongo Tupou once again continues to work hard to serve the Pacific community in Christchurch.
“I helped one of my clients modify the access area to his house as when it rains, the area floods with water and my client who is wheelchair bound can’t go anywhere.” Says Kaiongo.
“The modification of the footpath and driveway is the result of successful coordination with the Housing New Zealand headquarter at Papanui, Christchurch.”
“We are also grateful to ACC for assisting in the installation of the ramp.”
The work doesn’t stop there though. Kaiongo also went on to help Canterbury’s oldest Pacific Woman, Mrs Soana Taake Tapavalu who is at the beautiful age of 93. Bathroom modifications were done to her home and Tupou is providing her with ongoing cultural support.
