Vaka Tautua takes part in New Zealand's biggest health festival
Monday 23 March 2015
Creekfest, New Zealand’s biggest health festival with an attraction of over 30,000 people, provided Vaka Tautua with the prime opportunity to promote our ‘For Pacific, By Pacific’ services.
Often regarded as the ‘heart of the Pacific, in Wellington’, Porirua has been home to Creekfest since it’s establishment in 2004. The alcohol free, smoke free and sugar free drinks family day has gone from it’s humble beginnings in a Cannons Creek carpark to a full-blown event with an incredible following and attraction.
A day where health and social service providers get out and promote their services to the community, Vaka Tautua took part in this occasion for the sixth time.
“The highlight of this day is the amount of people we get to meet who come and ask about our service, not only Pacific but other cultures as well.” Says Like Minds, Like Mine Project Coordinator, Susanne Cummings.
“Cannons Creek has a high number of Pacific people so it’s imperative that our Pacific community, who we are here to serve, are aware of our services that we have to offer.” Says Susanne.
Creekfest 2015 was an event not to be missed this year.
