Asinate Toki

Asinate Toki is a Community Support Worker in our Ola Fiafia Mental Health team in Auckland.

Asinate was born in New Zealand and is of Tongan and Niuean heritage. She joined Vaka Tautua in January 2023 with a goal of moving into the mental health sector to serve Pacific people living with mental distress.

Over her career she has held a number of customer-facing positions, which has allowed her to develop her interpersonal skills so that she can meaningfully engage with people from all walks of life.

Outside of work, Asinate enjoys attending family gatherings, watching movies, and exercising. She is also a carer for her Nana, who has a chronic illness.
