Fijian • Masters of Medicine in General Surgery and Post Grad Diploma in Health Science 

Esala is a Disability Information Advisory Services Coordinator in the Tagata Sa’ilimalo Disability Services team based in our Canterbury office.  

Esala joined Vaka Tautua in April 2022, previously in a role as a Support Worker for Brackenridge. He also has extensive experience and practice in the medicine and health sector. 

He has a passion for the pacific peoples and wants to assist in the transformation and make change in the social and health services for them. Esala has a strong involvement in his community, where he is the President of his Kadavu Province Fijian Community. 

In his spare time, he is continuing his studies and completing a PhD in Pacific Studies at the University of Canterbury. He also loves reading, playing rugby and volleyball and spending time with his children.
