Vaka Tautua success story photo

“I’m connected and motivated to find work – thank you Vaka Tautua for caring for my mum and me.”

JL, service user – Mental Health Navigation Services.

Vaka Tautua has been a lifeline for JL, a 34-year-old of Tokelauan, Samoan, and Māori heritage. Facing social isolation and lack of direction, JL found hope through our compassionate support. We’ve helped him develop a plan for training and employment, assisted with crucial appointments, and provided essential items like a mobile phone. This support has significantly reduced JL’s anxiety and depression, keeping him connected and engaged with vital services. Walking alongside JL reflects our commitment to empowering Pacific individuals to overcome challenges and improve their mental wellbeing.
