Toleafoa Malu Tulia

Toleafoa Malu Tulia is Vaka Tautua’s Regional Manager for the Canterbury and Otago regions.

Appointed in November 2021, Malu previously worked in Pacific mental health services for 17 years. She has attained many qualifications, including a National Diploma in Mental Health (Level 6), a Certificate in Pacific Nutrition (Level 5), Pacific Mental Health and Addiction Training, and a Certificate in Child Care Protection (Level 4). Malu has also been a guest lecturer for the School of Health Sciences at the University of Canterbury and a Cultural Tutor for Pacific Teaching at the University of Otago.

Malu’s strong established relationships across the Pacific community in the Southern region will help her fulfil her desire to encourage and improve health outcomes for our Pacific people’s. Outside of work, Malu is actively involved in her church and community activities. She enjoys keeping fit, listening to music, and gardening.
